- How long will my files be accessible?
Web DropBoxes will be cleaned out over the Christmas break in early January.
Email reminders will be sent to all dropbox owners reminding them of the cleanup
process and timeline.
Top
- How much storage space will I be allotted?
Web DropBoxes will be configured with a default quota of 100MB.
Top
- How can I request a larger quota for my DropBox?
This will be handled on an individual basis. Please submit a service
request. The DropBox is not intended for permanent storage. It was designed
as an alternative method for students to submit assignments to faculty members
instead of sending large attachments via email. Once the courses are finished,
faculty members should consider using other storage methods to keep archive
copies if they want to keep the data for a period of over 1 year.
Top
- How will students submit files?
Students will choose the "Student Upload" option on the DropBox site and they
will be prompted to log in. Once logged in, they will choose from the list
of courses for which dropboxes have been configured and then they will select
the file for upload. Once they request is submitted, the file will be delivered
to the specific course folder on the server and an email is then sent to the
instructor with a link to the file for viewing and/or downloading.
Top
- Will files be overwritten if students make submissions
with the same name?
When a file is uploaded by a student, the student's username will be appended
to the filename to make the filename unique. If the student re-submits the
same file then the earlier version of the file will be overwritten.

- Who can upload files to the public area?
